Ukraine-Estonia Project<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Specialists of Center of intellectual property and technology transfer of NAS of Ukraine and University of Tartu jointly developed\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciptt.nas.gov.ua\/en\/doc1_2016.pdf\">recommendations on how to expand the knowledge transfer from research institutions and universities to industry.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In 2016 specialists of the University of Tartu (Estonia) and of the Center of Intellectual Property and Technology Transfer NAS of Ukraine took part in the project\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Improvement of regulatory and institutional framework of academia-industry knowledge transfer and development of core implementation competencies of knowledge transfer to enhance the knowledge based economy in Ukraine&#8221;<\/strong>, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Estonia.<\/p>\n<p>Within project there was conducted an international\u00a0seminar &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciptt.nas.gov.ua\/en\/doc2_2016.pdf\">Research Organizations and Universities Knowledge Transfer in Ukraine: the Improvement of the Policy and Mechanisms in Ukraine, based on EU Experience&#8221;,<\/a>\u00a0oriented on scientists from scientific institutions of NAS of Ukraine, brunch academies of sciences, universities. The seminar was held on April 12, 2016, in Kiev.<\/p>\n<p>Also, for university students, studying intellectual property law, there was organized course of lectures\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ciptt.nas.gov.ua\/en\/doc3_2016.pdf\">&#8220;Knowledge transfer and intellectual property protection and commercialization in the EU member-states universities and research organization and the Ukraine&#8221;,<\/a>\u00a0on 13-15 April, 2016, read by Estonian and Ukrainian experts.<\/p>\n<p>Following results of the project, there were prepared Recommendations <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nas.gov.ua\/text\/pdfNews\/Recomendation%20_English_2016.pdf\">&#8220;Facilitation of Knowledge Transfer in Ukraine between Research Organizations, Universities and Industry&#8221;<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the Recommendations, taking into account modern approaches to knowledge transfer in the European Union, there are being discussed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Improvement of organizational, legal support of knowledge transfer in scientific institutions and universities;<\/li>\n<li>Activity of Technology transfer offices on protection of intellectual property and technology transfer;<\/li>\n<li>Intellectual property management;<\/li>\n<li>Open Access issues;<\/li>\n<li>Contracts conclusion with enterprises and other issues.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>There are also being discussed measures, which should be taken to stimulate knowledge transfer at national level.<\/p>\n<p>The draft Recommendations were discussed during International seminar, held in Kyiv on April 12, 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Recommendations were sent to government agencies, research institutions, universities and can be used for the improvement of protection of intellectual property and technology transfer in scientific institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Preparation of the Recommendations was facilitated by the contacts of the CIPTT\u2019s specialists with colleagues from the high education institutions of Estonia: i.e. visit to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ut.ee\/en\/business\">Tarty University, Office of Research and Development<\/a>, visit to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.mtk.ut.ee\/en\/about-faculty\">School of Economics and Business Administration<\/a>\u00a0(University of Tartu) where the seminar \u201eResearch and innovation system in
